Hello, allow me to introduce myself, my name is jimmie , founder and creater of "Neia". don't know what we are? neither do many others, but, the band was originally formed in 1997 with three members, kenneth warnock (bass) , johnny allen vandenbrand (guitar) , jimmie dodson (drums,vocals),. all the songs were written in 1995 by me. since kenneth ( butch) was learning as we went , we did what we wanted. i would show him the part and he would learn it. johnny(snake) was very gifted on the guitar, as well as bass and drums. he played what he wanted , though i would hum it and he would play what i hummed. i showed johnny the rythems and told him to make them sing which he usually did. we all had min.wage jobs with no futures, so what the hay, we practiced 2 days a week, played out one time then dismembered after johnny went to jail. so after breaking up somewhere along 1998, i decided to try and do things myself rather than try to find everyone i needed, since butch got married and lost interest in the bass. it took some time but here is the final result, of course it could be subject to change. i got a recording program from my friend ,learned to use it, played all the parts, wrote the missing parts and back ups. though not a band to date 2 of the original members are present and still good buddies and always will be, our lives took different turns , but our love for music will always be there. the band never took off because of the lack of a powerful singer, the project has been on hold til such a person is found. the songs are written for main stream pop rock alternative. influnces are nirvana, metallica, eagles,counting crows,garth brooks,foo fighters,gin blossoms, snoop dog, eminem, and many, many, more. i like it all.

 

 

spreading goodness is far better than selling bitterness, so the majority of neias material is happy , good people songs. many topics are discussed , so you deicde.. i spent 5 years traveling and playing little dives for 50.00 a night and free beer. sometimes i even played bigger venues for more money, i have been there and done that, now i just want a secure furture for my kids, they are the new found motivation for the finished product. so with very little recording experience, outdated equipment ,and lots of other distractions, here is the current version of neiasden only release," Origin All !"

i may caution you, all of these songs were created as i gradually learned the guitar, i do not claim to be nor want to be a guitar player, i respect those guys alot and they deserve the title. i am perhaps a drummer and writer, bands are a group of people who have the same mission and purpose, and for the most part are non blood related relatives, you have to gel. the bass is the same, i played what i played, and leave it at that, bass players spend years mastering their skill, i did these parts in months, learning as i went,. i have always hoped someone would appreciate the effort. so i hope someone does. i have always wanted to show that anyone can do anything, and since i didnt start playing (drums) til i was 25, yes it is possible, so i will keep trying. four my four kids forever.

 

comprised mainly of 3 to 5 chord progressions ,straitforeward happy love songs, and songs not about love but with positive messages, simplicity was , and is my foremost concern, catchy and melodic phrasing. i love songs that have me huming them after their over. we have all had different lives and experiences but we all understand somethings, they dont need explanations. some may think that i am a religious fanatic, just religious, there must be something greater than us cuz were not that great. so any references to god or heaven are simply references to whatever it is you believe in, another place and possibly another time.

 

we all came from somewhere and we are all going somewhere besides here, so lets just all get along and try to make it a better place for us all. is that really so hard, also keep in mind, that neiasden is deep, there are alot of bats in the cave, but you can only do so much in what time we have, from metal to jazz to rap, what is it really all about anyway, thats right , the music. enjoy, sincerely
